Selection criteria for links and references

Every effort has been made to present a summary of the most policy-relevant links and references that are suitable to generalists. All links and references have been peer reviewed by experts in the field, with reference to the following selection criteria:

references/links that relate directly to, or have specific relevance to the linkage between health and environment, particularly with regards to developing countries;
references/links to topics/issues with specific relevance to policymakers or policy questions;
references/links that represent particular aspects of innovation in addressing the problem, i.e. participatory strategies, intersectoral cooperation, use of economic valuation methodologies, etc.;
references that are web-accessible.
References/links are to peer-reviewed academic/scientific journals; national government sites; and civil society/NGO sites that have carried out substantive work on the issue, and have no direct commercial/financial interest in the topic under review.
